Fall Semester, 2007
MIT 6.805/STS085: Ethics and Law on the Electronic Frontier
Preparation for week of class on November 15
Origins of broadcast regulation in the US
There is no assignment for today, because you should be hard at work
on your papers.
In class on Nov. 15, Hal will talk about broadcast
regulation in the U.S and the lessons it holds about the role of
metaphor in the way that society comes to regulate technology.
Writing
Take a look again at the schedule of paper
assignments. For November 18th, we are expecting a complete draft
with all sections written, and needing only polish and revision in
response to our feedback. In other words, think of the final paper
deadline as Nov. 18, together with a chance to do some revision at the
end of the semester.
To help you with your writing, we will be holding clinics next week,
according to the following schedule:
-
Monday, November 12:
- 11:30-2:30 in room 12-119
- 2:30-4:00 in room 12-112

- 2:00-3:00 in room 12-119
